Eric Harvey, Editor/Founder
J.D., DePaul University College of Law, 2019
B.A., History, Reed College, 2014
Chicago-native Eric Harvey has devoted his life to advocacy for press freedoms, founding TheReframer.org 15 October 2019.
Published in three languages, he organizes the Chicago chapter of AssangeDefense.org, fighting for Founder and former Editor-in-Chief of Wikileaks Julian Assange, as the Australian publisher undergoes on-going extradition proceedings in the United Kingdom. His works have appeared in Spanish at Intermedia.Press and at Spain.AssangeCampaign.org, in German at NachDenkSeiten.de, and in English at LAProgressive.com and AnonymousWorldwide.com.
Motivated by the belief that only free and unbridled access to information precedes all effective political action, Harvey focuses almost exclusively on advocating not just for Assange, but also journalists, whistleblowers, and anti-secrecy platforms in general.
He handles all aspects of operating TheReframer.org. Simultaneously, he is authoring a novel that is organized around First Amendment issues.
Leah Levine, Columnist
B.A., Art History, Loyola University Chicago, 2019
Pursuing a Master’s in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Chicago-born activist Leah Levine specializes in analyses of how central educational systems are to a citizenry’s ability to interpret and consume information.
Published in two languages, she also dedicates herself to advocacy for prison abolition, racial justice, and sex workers. Her work has appeared in Spanish at Intermedia.Press and in English at LAProgressive.com.
At the basis of her passion for these causes rests the powerful theory that censorship and suppression of information compromise any social or political movement.
