Chicago native Eric Harvey has devoted his life to advocacy for press freedoms, founding TheReframer.org in October 2008.

 

Mr. Harvey, whose works are published in three languages, organized the Chicago chapter of AssangeDefense.org, an organization that fought for WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange's freedom during the extradition proceedings against the journalist. Until Assange entered into a plea deal with the United States in June 2024, Mr. Harvey served as Operations Manager for The Reframer, drafted articles in defense of the Australian-born publisher, and organized "Free Assange" protests across the Midwest. As Assange now lives as a free man in his home country, Mr. Harvey has set out on a new endeavor—massive public relations campaigns for pardoning Assange.

 

Mr. Harvey's works have appeared in Spanish at Intermedia.Press and at Spain.AssangeCampaign.org, in German at NachDenkSeiten.de, and in English at LAProgressive.com and AnonymousWorldwide.com.

 

Motivated by the belief that only free and unbridled access to information precedes all effective political action, Mr. Harvey is dedicated to advocacy for publishers, whistleblowers, and anti-secrecy platforms.
